Shreya Kanaujia(She/Her)
Shreya completed her Bachelors in Law and Arts from Indian Law Society (ILS) Law College, Pune. She has a diverse work profile, having worked in Non- Governmental Organizations, domestic arbitration, and civil and criminal litigation.
During her work as a Programme Coordinator at Majlis Legal Centre, she provided socio- legal support to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. She has organised and conducted training and awareness sessions on issues of women and child rights for social workers, state authorities, college students and the general public. In her capacity as Support Person, she has represented children through their trials for cases under Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences, 2012 whilst working in proximity with Child Welfare Committee, Mumbai to ensure rehabilitation of children in need of care and protection.
During her work in litigation, she has assisted in research and analysis related to access to safe and legal abortion services, access to justice during the pandemic and sexual harassment at workplace.
She has also volunteered with organizations like Teach For India, The Lighthouse Project, teaching elementary school students and providing mentorship to class 10th students respectively.
She is currently working as a Legal Associate with POSHequili. As part of the POSHequili team, she is most excited about new and challenging opportunities presented, delving deep into India’s legislation for vulnerable communities such as women, trans folks, children and people with disabilities. Some of her responsibilities as a Legal Associate include:
- Acting as an External Member and assisting IC
- Due diligence on Posh, preparing reports
- Advising and guiding clients on Law
- Conducting Trainings for a diverse portfolio of stakeholders
- Legal research, summarizing judgements and creating content
