I - LEGAL UPDATES

The Supreme Court has held that stem cell therapy cannot be offered as a routine or commercial treatment for autism due to lack of scientific evidence. Such interventions are permissible only within approved clinical trials, reinforcing patient safety and ethical medical practice.
The Supreme Court of India has held that menstrual health and hygiene are integral to the constitutional rights to life, dignity, equality and meaningful education. It ruled that lack of access to sanitary products, clean toilets and awareness directly undermines these rights, and directed the State to ensure menstrual hygiene facilities, free sanitary pads and supportive infrastructure in schools to uphold girls’ dignity and keep them in education.

II - Exploring Intersections

Supporting children through gender exploration starts with listening with love and creating safe, affirming spaces. When caregivers respond with curiosity and acceptance instead of fear or judgment, children feel heard and supported in understanding themselves. This nurturing approach strengthens confidence, well-being, and family connection.

Here's your weekly food for thought through a Fun Fact or Quiz.

Did you know that the Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb, a unique cultural blend from Uttar Pradesh’s Ganges-Yamuna region, beautifully weaves together Hindu and Muslim traditions? This rich syncretism is seen in shared festivals, music, and cuisine that have symbolized peaceful coexistence for centuries.

For example, Muslim weavers often incorporate imagery of Hindu goddesses like Durga into their textiles, and the famous poet Kabir’s dohas (couplets) preach communal harmony across faiths. As we celebrate Interfaith Harmony Week, let us remember cultural lineages like Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb, a vibrant tradition reminding us that unity in diversity is not only possible—it has thrived for centuries.

Curious Cat:
What is unconscious bias, and how can it show up in workplaces?

Answer:
Unconscious bias refers to the automatic, often unintentional judgments and stereotypes we hold about people based on characteristics like race, gender, or age. In workplaces, it can show up in hiring decisions, performance evaluations, and everyday interactions, leading to unfair treatment and exclusion. Understanding and addressing these biases is essential to building truly inclusive environments.
Want to learn how to recognize and mitigate unconscious bias effectively? Join our Introduction to DEIB Concepts workshop on 21st February 2026, 12 – 1 PM (Virtual) to deepen your understanding and foster a more equitable workplace.
