April is Stress Awareness Month 2025, with the theme “Lead with Love.” It emphasizes the importance of recognizing the difference between eustress (positive stress) and distress. Leaders are encouraged to support employees by offering empathy, resources, and self-care, fostering a culture where open conversations and mental well-being are prioritized.
April, celebrated as Dalit History Month, honors Babasaheb Ambedkar’s legacy and highlights the anti-caste movement. It acknowledges the work of Dalit, Bahujan, and Adivasi leaders while addressing caste-based inequalities. The month also serves as a reminder of ongoing atrocities, like honor killings and violence, faced by caste minorities.
In times of loss, we must unite with empathy and compassion, supporting those affected by tragedy. However, rising communal violence fueled by bias and stereotypes deepens the pain. We must reject hatred, avoid harmful narratives, and stand together with solidarity, compassion, and humanity at the center.
Equilibrio Advisory LLP highlights Autism Acceptance Month by focusing on concepts like spoon theory and masking. It emphasizes the importance of understanding these experiences to create neuro-affirming workplaces. Head onto our LinkedIn to read about lived experiences.

I - LEGAL UPDATES

The Supreme Court directed all States and Union Territories to comply with the POSH Act by appointing District Officers and constituting LCs and ICs. Affidavits confirming compliance must be filed by May 9, 2025. A virtual conference is scheduled, with the next hearing set for May 14 to review progress.
The Supreme Court overturned the High Court’s quashing of FIRs in a POCSO case involving a teacher accused of inappropriate conduct and sending obscene WhatsApp images to students. It held the High Court erred in conducting a mini trial, directed continuation of the criminal trial, and ordered protective measures for victims.
The Delhi High Court granted bail to a man accused in a dowry death case, stressing that while such offences undermine human dignity, bail decisions must rely on evidence, not emotion. The Court found no recent dowry-related cruelty, noted prolonged custody, and emphasized that allegations alone cannot justify continued incarceration.

II - Exploring Intersections

Creating supportive spaces for autistic employees requires prioritizing allyship. This includes raising awareness about autism, unlearning stereotypes, providing mentorship, recognizing stressors, and developing supportive techniques. Encouraging emotional regulation and adopting inclusive language fosters an environment where neurodivergent individuals feel heard and supported, ensuring a neuro-affirming workplace.
Sexual harassment impacts complainants deeply, but the inquiry process can intensify trauma through re-traumatization, isolation, and fear of retaliation. Delayed reporting often stems from emotional distress, fear of judgment, or workplace culture. Sensitivity, empathy, and confidentiality from employers, IC members, and HR are crucial throughout and beyond the redressal process.
