Your productivity does not define your worth.

Workplaces often emphasize productivity through an ableist lens, leaving little room for rest, life, and authenticity. This can distort how we see ourselves—especially on days we need a break.

This August, let’s redefine productivity as progress, clarity, and balance.

At Equilibrio Advisory LLP, we’re committed to cultivating safer, more inclusive workplaces. Our monthly townhalls, alongside other initiatives, focus on team connection, growth, and wellbeing—fostering a culture that’s both secure and enriching.
As we wrapped up Disability Pride Month, we took a moment to celebrate the incredible stars of the Disability Pride movement—the activists, advocates, and community leaders whose tireless efforts have propelled disability justice into the mainstream. As allies, let’s continue to spotlight the voices of disability activists beyond Disability Pride Month.

~ Spotlighting Landmark Judgments since passing of the Law!

I - LEGAL UPDATES

The Delhi High Court quashed an FIR against an employer accused of sexual harassment and stalking after a mutual settlement. Justice Ravinder Dudeja directed the man to perform community service at LNJP Hospital every Sunday for six months as a condition for quashing the FIR.
The Madras High Court welcomed Tamil Nadu’s Transgender Policy 2025 but directed the State to clarify horizontal reservation, ensure representation in oversight committees, and align education and healthcare curricula with SOGIESC. It urged timely finalisation of an LGBQA+ policy and community-focused implementation with binding instructions to marriage registrars.
The Supreme Court held that reasonable accommodation for persons with disabilities is a constitutional mandate under Articles 14 and 21. It directed APSRTC to reinstate a colour-blind driver under a binding 1979 industrial settlement, rejecting administrative discretion and emphasising that employment protections cannot be denied through internal circulars or inaction.

II - Exploring Intersections

In a landmark ruling, the Supreme Court affirmed mental health as part of the right to life under Article 21 and transferred a student suicide case to the CBI. It issued 15 binding guidelines for educational institutions, mandating mental health policies, counselling access, staff training, and suicide prevention protocols nationwide.

Did You Know that Malayalam superstar Mohanlal recently starred in a viral jewelry ad that challenges traditional notions of masculinity? In the commercial, Mohan Lal delicately wears jewelry and poses tenderly in his vanity van—traits often excluded from stereotypical masculine portrayals. Given his iconic status as a masculine hero, this ad powerfully disrupts the conventional image of masculinity as solely tough and hard. By embracing softness and elegance, it helps dismantle harmful gender roles and opens up broader conversations about diverse expressions of identity. This progressive portrayal encourages society to rethink rigid gender stereotypes and promotes inclusivity in how masculinity is understood and represented.

Curious Cat: What are queer platonic intimacies (QPIs), and why are they important?

Answer: Queer Platonic Intimacies (QPIs) refer to deeply committed, non-romantic relationships that redefine the possibility of friendships but don’t fit conventional romantic labels. Friendships are often seen secondary to romantic connections in the traditional relationship hierarchy. However, QPIs often involve emotional closeness, mutual support, and partnership-like dynamics without romance or sexual involvement. These relationships challenge societal norms by validating diverse forms of intimacy and connection. For many in the LGBTQIA+ community and beyond, QPIs offer a vital space for expressing love and commitment outside heteronormative frameworks. These dictate that monogamous romantic connections are the only path to emotional fulfillment. Queer Platonic Intimacies therefore, give rise to chosen families, and communities built on acceptance and mutual solidarity.
