I - LEGAL UPDATES

In X v. State of Punjab & Ors, Punjab
& Haryana HC ruled that technical
limitations, such as a time delay,
should not hinder compensation
under the Victim Compensation
Scheme in a gang rape case

In X v. The State of Assam, the
Supreme Court dismissed a rape
case filed 34 years after the alleged
incident. Emphasizing the lack of
credible explanation for the delay
and potential property-related
motives, the court quashed the
proceedings.

Bombay HC granted bail to a 26-
year-old who has been accused for
allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl.
The Court stated that the victim’s
voluntary left her house citing a
perceived consensual relationship.

In X v. State of Punjab & Ors, Punjab
& Haryana HC granted permission to
terminate the pregnancy of a 15-
year-old rape victim. Considering the
psychological trauma and societal
implications, the court emphasizes
the minor’s right under the Medical
Termination of Pregnancy Act, 1971.

culture. Mandated by law, this policy
ensures a safe environment,
communicates commitment to
employee welfare, and should be
regularly updated to stay relevant.

To combat the rising cases of child
sexual abuse, the Protection of
Children from Sexual Offences
(POCSO) Act imposes stringent
penalties. The article emphasizes
society’s duty to protect children,
including mandatory reporting.

mental harassment is crucial for a
