~ Spotlighting Landmark Judgments since passing of the Law!

I - LEGAL UPDATES

The Allahabad High Court held that Internal Committees must strictly comply with the procedural safeguards prescribed under the POSH Act and the principles of natural justice. While acknowledging the seriousness of workplace sexual harassment allegations, the Court ruled that fairness in the inquiry process cannot be compromised and remitted the matter for fresh consideration in accordance with law.

The Fast Track Special Court, Cuttack, reaffirmed that the credible and consistent testimony of a child victim can independently sustain a conviction under the POCSO Act. The Court also observed that delays in reporting child sexual abuse should be assessed in light of the victim’s age and trauma rather than through rigid evidentiary standards.

The Karnataka High Court set aside a blanket anticipatory bail order granted in anticipation of unspecified future complaints under the POCSO Act. The Court reiterated that anticipatory bail must be based on a specific apprehension of arrest and cannot extend to unknown future allegations, particularly in cases involving offences against children.

The Patna High Court reiterated that bail is the statutory rule for children in conflict with law under the Juvenile Justice Act. However, it clarified that courts may refuse bail where credible material indicates that release would expose the child to criminal influence, compromise rehabilitation, or otherwise fall within the statutory exceptions.

II - Exploring Intersections

Not all trauma is visible but its impact can shape how people think, work, and connect. Understanding PTSD in the workplace is the first step toward creating psychologically safer, trauma-informed environments. Explore the signs, challenges, and practical ways organizations can foster empathy, support recovery, and build workplaces where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
The right therapeutic space can make all the difference. Queer-affirming therapy isn’t an extra, it’s essential for creating a space where people feel understood, supported, and safe to heal. If your organisation partners with Mental Health at Work, queer-affirming support is available through your EAP.
July is Disability Pride Month, celebrating the theme “The World Works Better With Us.” Inclusion goes beyond accommodation, it means creating spaces where everyone belongs. At Equilibrio Advisory, we’re committed to learning, listening, and building workplaces where accessibility, dignity, and belonging are part of the foundation.

Here's your weekly food for thought through a Fun Fact or Quiz.

Did you know that FIFA is introducing sensory rooms at the 2026 World Cup to enhance accessibility for all fans? These quiet spaces offer a sanctuary for individuals who may find the intense atmosphere of a football stadium overwhelming, allowing them to regulate their nervous system and return to the match when they feel ready. This initiative is particularly significant given that an estimated 5% to 16.5% of the population experiences sensory processing differences, including autistic individuals and those with PTSD, dementia, anxiety, or other invisible access needs. The new rooms, available at all 16 host stadiums across the USA, Canada, and Mexico, will feature dimmed lighting, reduced noise, comfortable seating, tactile resources, and calming visuals, complemented by sensory bags containing noise-cancelling headphones and fidget tools.
For too long, stadium design has operated under a single concept of fandom. However, the 2026 World Cup marks a crucial step forward, redefining what true access means in sports. By acknowledging and catering to diverse needs, FIFA is demonstrating that while football is indeed for everyone, the experience itself must be intentionally designed to be inclusive.

Curious Cat:
How is cricket supporting women players returning to the sport after pregnancy?

Answer:
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has introduced landmark ‘Return to Play Post-Pregnancy Guidelines’ — a 16-week recovery and training pathway designed to help women cricketers return to the sport safely and confidently after childbirth. Built around a 6-step framework called the 6 Rs — Ready, Review, Restore, Recondition, Return, and Refine — the guidelines cover everything from medical and psychological assessments to cricket-specific conditioning and ongoing post-return monitoring.
Each player is supported by a dedicated Case Manager — a doctor or physiotherapist — who oversees their individual recovery journey. The guidelines also prioritise mental health, pelvic floor health, and musculoskeletal assessments, ensuring care goes well beyond physical fitness. A significant step forward for player welfare, this policy signals that women’s cricket is finally building systems that support athletes through every stage of their lives.
Here’s all the tools you need to build safe and equitable workspaces! Drop us a Hey, to get started!
