Did you know that Suga from the famous K-pop band, BTS, has co-written a new music therapy guide called “MIND Program” for autistic children and teenagers?

 

Developed with Yonsei University and Severance Hospital clinicians, the book uses shared musical activities like rhythm work and group sessions to foster communication, participation, and connection. The program’s name, MIND, stands for Music, Interaction, Network, and Diversity. Its focus isn’t on performance or behavior modification, but on using music to create comfort, shared experience, and responsiveness. This approach is affirming and inclusive because it meets autistic individuals where they are, rather than pushing them to fit rigid social norms. Suga has a history of supporting the autistic community, and this book is a significant contribution to the field of music therapy for neurodivergent individuals.
